Biodiversity Reporting & Action

What is biodiversity?

Biodiversity is the variety of all living things and their interactions. Scientists often refer to three levels of diversity that cannot be separated which are: species, genetics ad ecosystem diversity.

Environment Act (Wales) 2016

Section 6 of the Environment Act places a duty on public authorities to “seek to maintain and enhance biodiversity” so far as it is consistent with the proper exercise of those functions. In doing so, public authorities must also seek to “promote the resilience of ecosystems”.

Llanbradach and Pwllypant are certainly doing their bit by working in partnership with volunteering groups, Keep Wales Tidy and our local school to help improve our environment for all and to promote biodiversity.
